OUR STORY

Since the early months of 1996, the musical project Prototipo began taking shape through the creativity and vision of Franklin during his teenage years. What started as a personal form of expression slowly evolved into something much greater, as he began writing lyrics, melodies, and guitar arrangements in a completely organic way.

Years later, Vlad — deeply connected to technology and creativity — joined the process using the limited tools they had at the time: a modest computer, basic recording software, and a strong desire to create. Together, they recorded the first songs of the project. Simple productions built only with guitar and vocals, yet even then, there was already something special within the sound and emotional essence of those compositions.

Over time, Franklin naturally developed musical structures, rhythms, guitar arrangements, bass lines, harmonies, and even drum concepts entirely through intuition and self-teaching. Although he never considered himself a traditional academic musician focused on a single instrument, he always possessed an exceptional ear for building melodies, atmospheres, and emotions through music.

Songs such as “En Esta Gran Ciudad,” “Despierta,” “No Naceré,” and “Será al Revés” were born during that era, initially exploring sounds closer to pop rock while gradually evolving into something more unique.

The project continued growing independently and organically. Around twelve complete songs were produced inside a garage studio, created with passion, sacrifice, and creativity. But as often happens in life, immigration, work, and personal circumstances eventually placed the project on pause before reaching its full maturity.

Yet the ideas never disappeared.

Today, many years later, Prototipo is reborn through the evolution of technology and creative tools that once felt unreachable. Franklin finally found a strong musical identity within reggae, naturally blending influences from jazz, funk, flamenco, and other genres that now shape the soul of the project.

Modern technology and AI-assisted creative tools have allowed those ideas born more than two decades ago to fully expand, bringing new life and cinematic dimension to the original artistic vision of Prototipo.

More than perfection, Prototipo seeks to transmit emotion, stories, nostalgia, and good vibes to everyone who connects with its music.

We want to deeply thank all the people who were part of this journey in El Salvador, especially Herbert Zepeda, Jimmy Alvarenga, and many other musicians and friends who shared their talent, energy, and friendship during live performances and family gatherings under Franklin’s musical direction. Every contribution became part of the road that today comes back to life.

We know there is still much more to create and learn, but for now, we feel proud and grateful to finally share this dream with the world.
